Annapolis Restaurateur Devon Park Expands Waterfront Dining Group to Baltimore

Devon Park, the founder of Annapolis-based Chesapeake Table Restaurant Group, is opening the company's first Baltimore location this fall, expanding a brand built over the past decade around seafood-focused waterfront dining in the state capital.

Park opened his first restaurant, a small seafood spot near Annapolis City Dock, twelve years ago after working as a chef in Washington for most of his career. The concept, built around locally sourced Chesapeake Bay seafood and a rotating menu tied to seasonal catch availability, expanded to three additional Annapolis-area locations over the following decade.

"I always said I'd only leave Annapolis if the right building came along in Baltimore, and it finally did," Park said. "This isn't about franchising a formula somewhere else, it's about bringing the same sourcing relationships we've built with Chesapeake watermen to a new dining room."

The new Baltimore location, situated in a renovated warehouse space near the Inner Harbor, will seat roughly 180 guests and employ approximately 85 staff once fully operational. Park said the restaurant group has maintained direct purchasing relationships with several Eastern Shore seafood harvesters since its founding, a supply chain he described as central to the brand's identity.

Chesapeake Table Restaurant Group currently employs around 240 people across its Annapolis locations, and Park said the company generated approximately $28 million in revenue last year. He said further expansion beyond Baltimore is possible but not currently planned, citing a preference for growing deliberately rather than rapidly.
