Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School Earns Renewed Top Business Accreditation

Loyola University Maryland's Sellinger School of Business and Management has earned a five-year renewal of its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, a distinction held by only a small fraction of business schools nationwide, following a review process that took more than eighteen months.

The accreditation review examined the school's curriculum, faculty research output, and post-graduation employment outcomes, with reviewers specifically praising the Sellinger School's undergraduate consulting practicum, which places student teams with real Baltimore-area small businesses and nonprofits for a full semester of paid consulting work.

"Getting re-accredited isn't just a formality — it forces you to prove that what you're teaching still matches what employers actually need," said the dean of the Sellinger School. "The practicum program was one of the things reviewers kept coming back to because it's not just theoretical coursework."

The Jesuit university, located in North Baltimore, has steadily grown its graduate business programs over the past several years, adding a part-time MBA cohort aimed specifically at working professionals in the Baltimore healthcare and financial services sectors. School officials said enrollment in the part-time MBA program has grown by roughly 25 percent since it was restructured to allow evening and hybrid coursework.

University leadership said the renewed accreditation strengthens the school's standing as it competes for regional MBA students against larger programs at the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins, both of which draw from a similar pool of Baltimore-area working professionals.
